{"id":30776,"date":"2025-06-10T12:36:44","date_gmt":"2025-06-10T16:36:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.carh.org\/?p=30776"},"modified":"2025-06-10T12:57:08","modified_gmt":"2025-06-10T16:57:08","slug":"carh-to-testify-at-house-committee-hearing-on-rural-housing-june-12-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.carh.org\/carh-to-testify-at-house-committee-hearing-on-rural-housing-june-12-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"CARH to Testify at House Committee Hearing on Rural Housing on June 12, 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>CARH\u2019S BROADCAST EMAIL \u2013 Legislative Update <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>June 10, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On <strong>Thursday, June 12<\/strong>, the House Financial Services Committee will hold a hearing entitled \u201c<em>Housing in the Heartland: Addressing Our Rural Housing Needs<\/em>.\u201d The hearing is scheduled for <strong><u>2:00 p.m., Eastern<\/u><\/strong> and can be streamed live <a href=\"https:\/\/financialservices.house.gov\/calendar\/eventsingle.aspx?EventID=409745\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The hearing with focus on ways to bring additional capital to rural areas thereby increasing the supply of rural housing. Witnesses will also be asked to comment on <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.house.gov\/meetings\/BA\/BA04\/20250612\/118377\/BILLS-119pih-amendtheHousingActof1949.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">legislation<\/a> that will likely be re-introduced in the House of Representatives that would provide for a permanent decoupling of the Section 521 program from the Section 515 program when a property\u2019s mortgage matures.<\/p>\n<p>CARH President and Director of Development of Buckeye Community Hope Foundation, Ian Maute and CARH member David Lipsetz, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Housing Assistance Council will testify.
