The announcement follows\u00a0<\/span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hud.gov\/press\/press_releases_media_advisories\/HUD_No_23_169\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">support HUD provided to families<\/span><\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; color: #333333;\">\u00a0on August 11, 2023, in the wake of the fires.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; color: #333333;\">\u201cWe&#8217;re committed to supporting Hawaii communities. Our deepest condolences go to those who have lost loved ones. \u202fHUD is doing everything in our power to ensure that survivors of these devastating fires have a safe place to call home,\u201d said HUD Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Community Planning and Development Marion McFadden. \u201cAfter a disaster, priorities shift towards recovery. We are empowering local grantees to use existing resources\u202ffor their most pressing needs and have enacted every flexibility within our authority.&#8221;\u202f<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; color: #333333;\">The regulatory and administrative relief announced today covers the following HUD programs: Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME), Housing Trust Fund (HTF), Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), and Continuum of Care (CoC).
